8 Healthy Habits For a Kick Ass Day

You’ve got school and work, along with trying to maintain your social life, maybe a relationship, keep up with your family, make sure your apartment isn’t a flat out mess and by the time the weekend comes around you honestly just feel like laying in bed and hibernating for two days straight. Hun, I get it. I’ve been there way more than i’d like to admit! Life in your twenty’s is definitely a time to enjoy, but lets be real … It’s fricken BUSY! Amongst all the hustle and bustle of day to day life, it’s important to remember the importance of self care. You NEED to be looking out for yourself mentally and physically. Here are some habits I practice to keep myself healthy throughout the week – even while on the go!

8 Hours of sleep

I get it, this can be difficult, especially while trying to juggle school, work and a social life. It isn’t always easy to get a full nights rest but this is the foundation for a kick ass day, and a positive mentality! Getting 8 hours as often as you can is super important, I promise you’ll see a huge difference physically and mentally. 

8 Thousand steps a day

Get yourself a step counter gf! I LOVE my FitBit Blaze so so much! 

8 Glasses of Water

I also use my FitBit to track my water intake. If you don’t have a fitbit, I highly recommend MyWater. It also helps to get yourself a hella cute water bottle to carry around with you all day. If you’re anything like me, you’re drawn to anything bright and adorable. I am head over heels for my bkr 500 ml bottle I got last year in my Fabfitfun summer box! Having a super trendy & adorable water bottle really isn’t completely necessary i’ll admit, but it DOES make me more likely to reach for some water in the mornings rather than coffee!

5 Servings of Fruits & Veggies

Fruits and veggies are full of vitamins that keep you feeling healthy and energized throughout the day. Doctors day you should be getting anywhere from 5-10 servings a day!

3 Mental breaks

Sometimes you just gotta slowwwwwww it down. It could be 5 minutes of meditation in the mornings or 20 minutes in the bath before bed. Just make sure you’re putting some time away in your day to really take a breather and take care of 

YOU! 

1 full exercise session

I like to start my mornings with a blogilates workout when i’m not feeling the gy

m. I like working out in the morning because it gets me feeling super energetic and ready for the day but I know it isn’t always doable – whatever the time of day you should really try and get a workout in, even if it’s just a brisk walk! Anything is better than nothing!

3 full meals & 3 small healthy snacks

The day is crazy I get that but don’t forget foooood! The most important part of my day lols. No skipping meals babes, even if the day is insane – in order not to break the bank while school is in sesh I try and meal prep as often as possible

1 hour of no phone before bed

I really do swear by this – putting all your electronics away an hour before you go to sleep gives your brain a chance to wind down a bit before bed. I struggle with a wandering mind at night and I find it hard to get to sleep but giving myself a bit of time to calm down before bed ALWAYS helps me get a good nights rest!

Taking care of yourself truly is SO important but for some reason, it often gets out on the back burner. Making these 8 simple changes in my life have really made such a huge difference on my mental and physical health and I PROMISE it will for you as well!
