What I Learned From 2020

What I Learned From 2020

Hey hi hello from 2021!

There really has never been a New Years quite like this one babes … when I say I was counting down the seconds, minutes, DAYS, till 2020 was over I MEAN IT. There’s no doubt about it, this past year has been rough. It seems like everywhere I turned there was darkness, anxiety, and heartache; everyone was experiencing some form of loss and we all had to make sacrifices we didn’t necessarily want to be making. I feel like I was pushed to my mental limits and tested like I’ve never been tested before and it was HARD. No sugar coating and no bs … this year was a complete and total bitch. That being said, I do have quite a few blessings that have come from this year that are hidden behind all that darkness (really hidden most days) and these are what I’m choosing to carry with me into 2021.

2020 WINS:

  • I graduated university!!
  • We moved into our very first house
  •  I got an exciting promotion in a job that I love
  • We added a new little pupster to the family
  • I’ve taken HUGE steps towards loving and accepting my own body and mind
  • Spent time with family that I wouldn’t have otherwise been able to do

I know this year has been a challenging one. I know things can look really grim and bleak, and I know we all still have a long way to go but it’s important to take a breath and remember the positive things life has to offer every now and then, even if they’re few and far between. Even the smallest wins deserve to be celebrated. If there’s only one thing to take from this year it’s this: you NEED to take the time to stop and smell the roses. Things change, people move on, the world keeps moving and sometimes it all happens so fast it’s hard to keep up. Take the time to tell your loved ones you love them, reach out to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while, take a breath, look around and take it all in. Life moves so fast and as we all learned this year, everything can change in an instant. I say, bring on 2021. Bring on the challenges, the smiles, the laughs, and the WINS.

Let’s celebrate some of those 2020 wins no matter how small! What’s something you’re PROUD of from this past year?

Sending so much love and a very Happy New Year to you all,
